Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PRP Concepts Fibrin Bio-Matrix is an autologous platelet-rich fibrin matrix (PRFM) developed by PRP Concepts, LLC for the treatment of chronic, non-healing pressure ulcers. The product is generated from a patient's own peripheral blood, which is processed to create a concentrated fibrin scaffold that encapsulates platelets. Unlike traditional platelet-rich plasma (PRP), which is liquid and releases growth factors rapidly, the fibrin bio-matrix serves as a structural scaffold that facilitates the sustained, controlled release of endogenous growth factors, including platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β), and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). This localized delivery system promotes tissue repair, angiogenesis, and wound closure by providing a bioactive environment for cellular migration and regeneration within the wound bed.
