Overview

PRP Protocol A is a standardized method for obtaining and preparing autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) for intra-articular injection. This protocol involves collecting 50 mL of peripheral blood, followed by a double centrifugation process: first for 10 minutes at 1200 rpm, and then the separated plasma is centrifuged again for 5 minutes at 1200 rpm. The resulting 5 mL of concentrated PRP is intended for therapeutic use, primarily in the conservative treatment of mild to moderate knee osteoarthritis. The therapeutic effect of PRP is attributed to the elevated concentration of platelets, which release various growth factors and cytokines that promote tissue repair, reduce inflammation, and improve joint function.
