Overview

PRRS-PLLAV is a veterinary vaccine candidate developed by ViroVet for the prevention of Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS) in swine. The vaccine utilizes ViroVet's proprietary Plasmid-Launched Live Attenuated Virus (PLLAV) technology. This platform involves the delivery of a DNA plasmid that, upon entering host cells, "launches" the production of a live attenuated virus. This approach is designed to combine the safety, stability, and ease of manufacturing associated with DNA vaccines with the high immunogenicity and comprehensive immune response (both humoral and cellular) typically elicited by live attenuated vaccines. By using a DNA plasmid to initiate viral replication in vivo, the technology bypasses the need for traditional virus cultivation in large-scale bioreactors.
