Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**PRT120** is Prota Therapeutics' investigational, standalone high-dose peanut oral immunotherapy for peanut allergy. It uses a proprietary rapid dose-escalation regimen followed by high-dose maintenance dosing over an 18-month treatment course, aiming to induce sustained unresponsiveness, also termed clinical remission, rather than only on-treatment desensitization. The treatment is designed to redirect peanut allergen-specific immune responses away from a T helper 2 and immunoglobulin E-mediated allergic phenotype toward immune tolerance; reported immune correlates include reduced peanut-specific and Ara h 2-specific immunoglobulin E and increased peanut-specific immunoglobulin G4. PRT120 is distinct from Prota's PRT100, which is the separate probiotic peanut oral immunotherapy combination product. PRT120 completed Phase 2b evaluation in pediatric peanut allergy and is described by its developer as phase-3 ready; it is not approved for marketing.
