Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pru p 3 sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT-Peach) is an allergen-specific immunotherapy designed to treat lipid transfer protein (LTP) allergy, particularly in patients with severe reactions to peach and other LTP-containing foods. The active ingredient is a peach extract enriched with Pru p 3, the primary nonspecific lipid transfer protein (nsLTP) from *Prunus persica*. The therapy works by inducing immunological tolerance, characterized by the suppression of allergen-specific effector T cells, the upregulation of regulatory T (Treg) cells, and the modulation of monocyte-derived dendritic cell (moDC) activity. Developed by the Fundación Pública Andaluza para la Investigación de Málaga en Biomedicina y Salud (FIMABIS) and Carlos Haya Hospital, and manufactured by ALK-Abelló, the drug has undergone Phase 3 clinical evaluation in Spain.
