Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Prunbomodulin (SB-01) is a recombinant protein developed by Blue Blood Biotech for cosmetic anti-aging applications. Registered under the INCI name sh-polypeptide-151, it functions as an inhibitor of Matrix Metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1). MMP-1 is a collagenase primarily responsible for breaking down Type I collagen in the skin's extracellular matrix, a process accelerated by UV exposure and chronological aging. By inhibiting this enzyme, Prunbomodulin aims to preserve skin structural integrity, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and mitigate signs of skin aging. It is designed for topical administration and is also being explored in microneedle delivery systems, such as the Age Ancla C1 patch, for applications in male pattern baldness.
