Overview

Prunus speciosa flower extract (specifically Fresh Prunus speciosa Flower Extract, or FPSFE) is a botanical extract obtained from the flowers of *Prunus speciosa* (cherry blossom). Developed by Hua An Tang Biotech Group, it is formulated as a topical scalp serum designed to manage sensitive scalp conditions and hair loss. FPSFE exhibits antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, photoprotective, and 5α-reductase inhibitory activities. In vitro, it reduces blue-light-induced reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation and apoptosis, decreases inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α and IL-1β), and inhibits 5α-reductase activity. Clinically, topical application of FPSFE-containing serum has been shown to reduce hair shedding, increase hair density, decrease scalp sebum levels, and improve scalp sensitivity and discomfort.
