Pru-Decorp is an oral capsule formulation of insoluble Prussian blue (ferric hexacyanoferrate) developed by Scott Edil Pharmacia Ltd in collaboration with India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS). It is a generic equivalent of Radiogardase-Cs. The drug is indicated for the treatment of patients with known or suspected internal contamination with radioactive cesium and/or radioactive or non-radioactive thallium. Its mechanism of action involves ion exchange, where it binds to cesium and thallium isotopes in the gastrointestinal tract, preventing their reabsorption through enterohepatic circulation and facilitating their excretion in the feces.
