PRV-001 is a first-in-class neurosteroid with anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective properties, originally developed by Odyssey Group International in joint venture with Prevacus for pediatric concussion and neurotrauma. Its mechanism of action is currently undefined, but it is categorized as a steroid and neuroprotectant. Further development has included acquisition by Oragenics in January 2024. PRV-001 has been investigated in preclinical settings for diseases like Niemann-Pick type C, with intranasal administration being the preferred route in pediatric applications[5].
