Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PRV111 is a nanotechnology-based system for local delivery of cisplatin-loaded chitosan particles designed to penetrate tumor tissue and lymphatic channels while avoiding systemic circulation and toxicity. It's a thin, 2-layer, matrix-type transmucosal patch that delivers highly concentrated cisplatin directly to tumor sites. When placed on a tumor, PRV111 releases cisplatin-loaded particles into the tumor, resulting in dramatic tumor size reduction and elevated levels of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes without the systemic side effects associated with intravenous cisplatin administration (such as nephrotoxicity and neurotoxicity).
