PS-1001

PS-1001 is a novel pan-inflammasome inhibitor being developed by Paratus Sciences for the treatment of immunology and inflammation-related disorders. The drug is the company's first development candidate derived from its platform that leverages insights from bat biology, specifically the unique mechanisms bats have evolved to control and dampen inflammation. PS-1001 is designed to inhibit the assembly of the inflammasome complex by targeting the ASC (Apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a CARD) adapter protein, thereby preventing the maturation and release of the pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-1β and IL-18. It is currently in preclinical development, with potential applications in chronic inflammatory skin conditions such as hidradenitis suppurativa, as well as broader autoimmune and metabolic diseases.
