PSC-01 is an autologous, adipose-derived stromal vascular fraction (SVF) cell therapy developed by Personalized Stem Cells for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. The product is manufactured from a patient's own lipoaspirate in a centralized FDA-compliant cGMP facility, where the adipose tissue is enzymatically digested to isolate a heterogeneous mixture of regenerative cells, including mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), pericytes, and endothelial progenitor cells. Unlike point-of-care SVF treatments, PSC-01 undergoes quality assurance testing for sterility, endotoxin levels, and cell characterization before being cryopreserved and shipped back to the clinic for intra-articular injection. The therapy aims to modulate the inflammatory environment of the osteoarthritic joint, promoting tissue homeostasis and reducing pain and functional disability by secreting anti-inflammatory factors and polarizing macrophages to an anti-inflammatory M2 phenotype.
