Overview

PSCA antibody refers to a class of monoclonal antibodies designed to target the Prostate Stem Cell Antigen (PSCA), a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored cell surface protein. PSCA is highly expressed in prostate cancer, particularly in high-grade, metastatic, and hormone-refractory stages, as well as in other malignancies like pancreatic and bladder cancers, while showing limited expression in normal tissues. These antibodies are utilized in various therapeutic and diagnostic formats, including naked antibodies that induce antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC), antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), and radiolabeled antibodies for imaging (immuno-PET). Clinical candidates such as AGS-1C4 have been investigated for their ability to inhibit tumor growth and deliver therapeutic payloads. Additionally, PSCA antibodies are used as targeting moieties in experimental platforms, such as superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles for MRI-based detection of cancer biomarkers, as described in the provided context.
