Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pseudostellaria heterophylla polysaccharides are bioactive macromolecular compounds extracted from the dried tuberous roots of *Pseudostellaria heterophylla* (commonly known as Taizishen or Prince Ginseng). These polysaccharides, which include specific purified fractions such as PF40 and H-1-2, exhibit a range of pharmacological properties, including immunomodulation, anti-diabetic effects, anti-fatigue activity, and neuroprotection. Preclinical studies demonstrate that they can alleviate insulin resistance, restore Th17/Treg cell balance, protect the intestinal mucosal barrier, and modulate the gut microbiota. Additionally, they have shown potential in mitigating Alzheimer's-like pathology via the microbiota-gut-brain axis and enhancing physical endurance by reducing oxidative stress.
