psilocybin

**Psilocybin** is a naturally occurring psychedelic tryptamine alkaloid and phosphorylated prodrug of psilocin. After administration, it is rapidly dephosphorylated to psilocin, which primarily produces psychedelic and potentially therapeutic effects through agonism of the serotonin 2A receptor.
