Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PsiThera is developing an oral small-molecule modulator of Tumor Necrosis Factor-like Ligand 1A (TL1A) for the treatment of inflammatory and immune-mediated diseases, specifically targeting inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and rheumatological conditions. TL1A is a cytokine that plays a pivotal role in driving mucosal inflammation and intestinal fibrosis. While current TL1A-targeted therapies are primarily monoclonal antibodies (biologics), PsiThera's "Antibody-in-a-Pill" approach aims to achieve antibody-like inhibition of the TL1A pathway through an oral small molecule, potentially offering improved patient convenience and access. The program is currently in the preclinical discovery stage.
