Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PróstaLumin is a radiopharmaceutical PET imaging agent containing the fluorine-18 labeled ligand PSMA-1007. It is designed to target the prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA), a protein highly overexpressed in prostate cancer cells. Developed and marketed by Biokosmos, PróstaLumin is used for the primary staging of high-risk prostate cancer patients prior to curative therapy and for the localization of suspected recurrence in patients with rising PSA levels. A key characteristic of PSMA-1007 is its predominant hepatobiliary excretion, which minimizes radioactivity in the urinary tract and enhances the visualization of lesions near the bladder and prostate bed compared to other PSMA-targeted tracers.
