Angeles Therapeutics-PSMA-cell therapy-SIR-T is a preclinical-stage cell therapy that utilizes the proprietary Synthetic Immune Receptor T-cell (SIR-T) platform to target Prostate-Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA). Developed by Angeles Therapeutics, the SIR-T technology distinguishes itself from traditional Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T-cell therapies by engineering T-cells with a synthetic receptor that integrates directly with the endogenous T-cell receptor (TCR) complex, including CD3 subunits. This approach is designed to mimic natural T-cell signaling more closely, potentially improving the persistence, metabolic health, and efficacy of the cells in the challenging microenvironment of solid tumors like prostate cancer. PSMA is a well-established target in prostate cancer, being highly expressed on the surface of malignant cells and the tumor neovasculature.
