Overview

PSMD4 siRNA is a research-grade short interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of the PSMD4 gene (also known as Rpn10). PSMD4 encodes a ubiquitin receptor subunit of the 19S regulatory lid of the 26S proteasome, which is responsible for recognizing and chaperoning ubiquitinated proteins for degradation. In preclinical models of multiple myeloma, PSMD4 siRNA has been shown to induce apoptosis and reduce cell viability, even in cells resistant to proteasome inhibitors like bortezomib. It is primarily used as a genetic tool to validate PSMD4 as a therapeutic target in oncology research, particularly in multiple myeloma and epithelial ovarian cancer.
