Overview

PSORI-CM02 is an empirically developed Chinese medicine formula, optimized from the traditional prescription Yin Xie Ling by Guo-Wei Xuan. It has been widely used in China for decades, particularly at the Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine, for the treatment of psoriasis. The formula is composed of several herbal components and is designed based on traditional Chinese medicine theory (Blood Stasis). Mechanistically, PSORI-CM02 exerts anti-psoriatic effects through multiple pathways: - It inhibits angiogenesis in psoriatic skin by reducing oxidative stress and inflammation. - Suppresses expression of angiogenesis-related molecules such as VEGF, VEGFR1/2, ANG1, and HIF-1α. - Inhibits activation of MAPK signaling pathway components. - Induces autophagy via inhibition of the PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway in keratinocytes. - Suppresses T cell proliferation and inhibits both mTOR and NFκB signaling pathways in activated T cells. - Increases regulatory T cell populations (CD4+ Foxp3+, CD8+CD122+PD-1+) while enhancing their suppressive capacity. Clinical studies have shown that it is safe and effective for psoriasis treatment. Preclinical studies also suggest potential utility in prolonging allograft survival by modulating immune responses[1][2][3][4][6][7].
