Its therapeutic efficacy stems from its ability to mitigate psoriasis-like skin inflammation by inhibiting the Vitamin D receptor (VDR)-mediated nuclear NF-κB and STAT signaling pathways. This action leads to a downregulation of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α, IFN-γ, IL-22, IL-17C, IL-1β, and IL-4, while simultaneously upregulating 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 (25HVD3).
