Psoriderm

Psoriderm is a range of topical coal tar-based formulations developed and marketed by Dermal Laboratories for the treatment of psoriasis. The active ingredient, distilled coal tar, is a complex mixture that exerts anti-proliferative and anti-pruritic effects. It is specifically indicated for sub-acute and chronic plaque psoriasis of the skin and scalp. The mechanism of action involves reducing the excessive rate of mitotic epidermal cell division, thereby restoring normal skin development. The product line includes Psoriderm Cream and Psoriderm Scalp Lotion Shampoo, both of which are approved for use in adults, the elderly, and children. A third formulation, Psoriderm Bath Additive, was discontinued in June 2021.
