PSTB100 is an orally bioavailable small molecule inhibitor of Tyrosine Kinase 2 (TYK2), a member of the Janus kinase (JAK) family, developed by Prospect Therapeutics (Nanjing) Limited. TYK2 is an intracellular kinase that mediates signaling for pro-inflammatory cytokines, including interleukin-23 (IL-23), IL-12, and Type I interferons (IFN), which are critical drivers in the pathogenesis of various autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. By selectively targeting TYK2, PSTB100 aims to modulate these inflammatory pathways while potentially avoiding the off-target effects associated with the inhibition of other JAK family members (JAK1, JAK2, and JAK3), such as myelosuppression and lipid elevations. The drug is currently in early-stage clinical development, with Phase I trials evaluating its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in healthy adult subjects, targeting indications such as psoriasis and inflammatory bowel disease.
