Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PSX1002 is a novel, particle-engineered, drug-only suspension formulation of glycopyrronium bromide (GB), a long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA). It is designed for oral inhalation via a pressurized metered dose inhaler (pMDI) and developed using Prosonix’s proprietary particle engineering technology. The formulation does not require any extraneous carriers or functional excipients. PSX1002 was developed as a potential once-daily, best-in-class monotherapy for moderate to severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Clinical studies have shown that single doses of PSX1002 produce rapid bronchodilation within 5 minutes and sustained improvement in lung function over 24 hours, with good tolerability and safety profiles comparable to placebo[1][3][4][7].
