Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Psyllium-derived medium-molecular-weight arabinoxylan (MMW-AX) is a polysaccharide derived from psyllium. It is being investigated for its ameliorative effects on Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM). MMW-AX works by modulating the gut microbiota, improving microbial diversity, and influencing short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) metabolism. This modulation helps to alleviate glucose and lipid metabolism disorders and liver damage associated with T2DM.
