Overview

PT-112 + docetaxel is a combination therapy comprised of two distinct drugs: PT-112, a novel small molecule platinum-pyrophosphate conjugate, and docetaxel, a well-established taxane chemotherapeutic agent. PT-112 induces immunogenic cell death (ICD) of cancer cells through inhibition of ribosomal biogenesis, resulting in endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondrial stress, thereby stimulating anti-cancer immune responses and potentially enhancing responsiveness to other therapies. Docetaxel disrupts microtubule function and inhibits cell division. This combination leverages both direct cytotoxic and immunomodulatory mechanisms, aiming for greater efficacy in treating solid tumors such as prostate cancer and other advanced cancer types[2][4][6].
