Overview

Pt-BocRot is a platinum-containing rotaxane compound designed as a cytotoxic agent, specifically explored for anticancer activity. It is a type of "host-rotaxane" molecule in which platinum (Pt) is chemically linked to a rotaxane scaffold featuring a Boc (tert-butyloxycarbonyl) protecting group. The compound was assessed for cytotoxic activity in cancer cell lines, particularly ovarian cancer cells resistant to cisplatin, and demonstrated significant cytotoxicity through an apoptotic mechanism. This structure is distinguished from related compounds such as Pt-ArgRot, which uses arginine moieties instead of the Boc group[6].
