Overview

PTC-1202 is a proprietary small molecule formulation of rimiducid being developed by Phoenix SENOLYTIX as a chemical inducer of dimerization (CID). It is specifically designed to activate the ApoptiCIDe platform, which utilizes an inducible caspase-9 (iCasp9) switch for regulated gene therapy applications, including purposeful cell elimination (ApoptiCIDe-CE) and regulated gene expression (ApoptiCIDe-RGT). Unlike the original intravenous formulation of rimiducid developed by Bellicum Pharmaceuticals, which required a 2-hour infusion, PTC-1202 is formulated for intramuscular or subcutaneous administration, potentially allowing for more convenient delivery via an autoinjector pen. The drug is currently in preclinical development for applications in aging-related disorders and obesity-related conditions.
