Overview
PtC10 refers to two distinct experimental small molecule compounds primarily investigated for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The first is a **platinum(IV) prodrug** derived from oxaliplatin, modified with decyl (C10) axial ligands to enhance lipophilicity. This compound is designed for use in supramolecular drug delivery systems, such as pH-responsive vesicles formed with carboxylatopillar[6]arene (CP6A), which allow for targeted release in the acidic tumor microenvironment and synergistic combination with other agents like doxorubicin. The second compound, often stylized as **PTC10**, is a heterocyclic triad consisting of pyrazole, thiazole, and coumarin moieties. It functions as an inhibitor of the **Heat Shock Protein 90 (HSP90)** network, leading to G2 phase cell cycle arrest and the simultaneous suppression of oncogenic signaling pathways, including RAS/MAPK and PI3K-AKT. Both entities are currently in the preclinical stage of development.
