PTC299 + anastrozole

PTC299 + anastrozole is an investigational oral combination of two small molecule drugs: PTC299, a novel inhibitor of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression, and anastrozole, an aromatase inhibitor that blocks estrogen synthesis. PTC299 inhibits tumor angiogenesis and disrupts tumor cell division at the G1/S cell cycle checkpoint by specifically targeting VEGF production at the post-transcriptional level, upstream of VEGF receptor action. Anastrozole suppresses estrogen synthesis, reducing hormone-driven tumor growth.
