Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PTD2021P is a mesenchymal stem/stromal cell (MSC) exosome ointment developed for topical application in the treatment of psoriasis. It works through the immunomodulatory properties of MSC exosomes, which can mitigate inflammation by promoting anti-inflammatory cytokines, stimulating Treg polarization, and preventing complement activation. In preclinical studies, topical application of MSC exosomes reduced C5b-9, IL-17, and IL-23 levels in a psoriasis mouse model. The drug is being positioned as an alternative therapeutic option for patients who are refractory to current first-line psoriasis treatments.
