Pterolobium stellatum crude hydromethanolic extract is a botanical research compound derived from the leaves of the Ethiopian medicinal plant *Pterolobium stellatum*. Traditionally used in Ethiopia for the treatment of seizures and epilepsy, the extract is prepared using 80% methanol and contains a complex mixture of phytochemicals, including gallic acid, ellagic acid, kaempferol, myricitrin, isoquercitrin, and quercitirin. Preclinical studies have demonstrated significant anti-seizure activity in both in vitro (0 Mg2+ mouse brain slice model) and in vivo (maximal electroshock and pentylenetetrazol-induced seizure) models. Additionally, the extract exhibits antimycobacterial properties against *Mycobacterium tuberculosis* and anti-nociceptive effects in animal models. It is currently being investigated by academic institutions, such as Arba Minch University, for its potential therapeutic applications in neurology and infectious diseases.
