Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PTI-102 is a preclinical drug candidate being developed by Postsurgical Therapeutics in collaboration with UPEX-MED for the management of pain associated with diabetic neuropathy. The therapeutic consists of an undisclosed analgesic small molecule encapsulated within a proprietary PLGA-based drug delivery system. This system is designed for local administration, either as microspheres or an in-situ forming gel, to provide sustained release of the medication directly at the site of nerve pain. By utilizing local delivery, PTI-102 aims to provide prolonged efficacy while minimizing systemic side effects. The program has successfully completed non-GLP efficacy animal testing.
