Overview

PtL2 is a synthesized platinum complex derived from an α-amino acid, l-alanine, and a 2,3-dihydroxybenzaldehyde derived Schiff base (L). It has been characterized using various spectroscopic techniques including elemental analysis, IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, EPR, and ESI-MS. In vitro studies have shown that PtL2 exhibits significant cytotoxicity against human hepatocellular carcinoma (HepG2) cell lines. Its mechanism of action involves binding to proteins, such as human serum albumin (HSA), and generating reactive oxygen species (ROS), leading to concentration-dependent inhibition of cell viability.
