PTP1B siRNA is a small interfering RNA designed to silence the expression of **Protein-tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP1B)**, a non-receptor tyrosine phosphatase encoded by the *PTPN1* gene. In the context of glioblastoma (GBM) research, PTP1B has been identified as a critical mediator of the IL-13/IL13Rα2 signaling axis, which promotes tumor aggressiveness, migration, and invasion. By silencing PTP1B, this siRNA inhibits the IL-13-mediated activation of downstream oncogenic pathways, including **Src (Tyr419)**, **AKT**, and **ERK1/2**. Research conducted by the Centro de Investigaciones Biológicas and Northwestern University suggests that targeting PTP1B can revert the pro-metastatic capacities of GBM cells, making it a viable therapeutic target for preventing tumor progression and invasion.
