Overview

PTPN2 inhibitor is a small molecule drug candidate being developed by Eilean Therapeutics for the treatment of solid tumors. It functions by inhibiting Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase Non-Receptor Type 2 (PTPN2), a key negative regulator of the JAK/STAT signaling pathway and T-cell receptor signaling. By blocking PTPN2, the drug aims to enhance the activation and proliferation of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) and increase the sensitivity of tumor cells to interferon-gamma-mediated cell death. This mechanism is intended to overcome immune evasion in the tumor microenvironment, potentially serving as a potent immuno-oncology (IO) therapy either as a monotherapy or in combination with existing checkpoint inhibitors.
