Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PTT-003 is a small molecule inhibitor developed by Pyrotech Therapeutics, currently in Phase 1 clinical development. It is being investigated for the treatment of Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy (CIPN) and Influenza A (H1N1). PTT-003 targets the pyroptosis pathway, specifically acting as an inhibitor of Gasdermin D (GSDMD). Gasdermin D is the executioner protein of pyroptosis, a form of programmed inflammatory cell death that contributes to neuroinflammation and tissue damage. By blocking GSDMD pore formation, PTT-003 aims to mitigate the inflammatory response and neuronal injury associated with chemotherapy and severe viral infections.
