Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PTT-008 is a preclinical-stage immuno-oncology drug candidate being developed by Pyrotech Therapeutics for the treatment of solid tumors. It is part of the company's "Pyroptosis-induced-Immunity" (PII) platform, which focuses on leveraging pyroptosis—a highly inflammatory form of programmed cell death—to stimulate the immune system against cancer. By using small molecules to trigger pyroptosis within the tumor microenvironment, the therapy aims to release pro-inflammatory cytokines and damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs). This process is intended to convert immunologically "cold" tumors into "hot" tumors, thereby enhancing the recruitment and activation of T cells and potentially synergizing with existing therapies such as immune checkpoint inhibitors.
