Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PTX-201 is an investigational small molecule protein degrader targeting TANK-binding kinase 1 (TBK1), developed by Photys Therapeutics. TBK1 is a critical kinase involved in innate immune signaling, particularly the cGAS-STING pathway, which plays a significant role in the body's ability to detect and respond to cancerous cells. By utilizing an induced proximity approach to degrade TBK1 rather than simply inhibiting its kinase activity, PTX-201 aims to more effectively modulate the tumor microenvironment and overcome resistance to existing checkpoint inhibitors. The drug is primarily being developed for applications in immuno-oncology to treat various solid tumors.
