PTX-202

PTX-202 is an mRNA-based vaccine candidate being developed by Providence Therapeutics, in partnership with Everest Medicines, for the prevention of rabies, specifically targeting post-exposure prophylaxis. The vaccine utilizes Providence's clinically validated mRNA technology platform to encode rabies virus antigens, aiming to elicit protective antiviral immunity. In preclinical studies, PTX-202 demonstrated superior immunogenicity compared to traditional inactivated rabies vaccines, producing higher levels of serum neutralizing antibodies and a more robust T-cell-mediated immune response in murine models. The program achieved preclinical proof-of-concept milestone status as of late 2022.
