Overview
Pudexacianinium chloride is the chloride salt form of pudexacianinium, a novel optical imaging agent and derivative of indocyanine green (ICG). It is designed for near-infrared fluorescence (NIR-F) imaging, primarily to enhance visualization of the ureters during surgery. Pudexacianinium contains β-cyclodextrin moieties, which increase its hydrophilicity and facilitate rapid renal excretion. Upon intravenous administration, it enables real-time intraoperative identification of ureters using NIR-F medical devices, thereby reducing the risk of ureteral injury in abdominopelvic surgeries. The compound has also been investigated for lymph node mapping in breast cancer and melanoma surgeries[1][2][3][4][5][7].
