Overview

PulmoBind (DFH-12) is a radiopharmaceutical imaging agent developed by the Montréal Heart Institute for the non-invasive detection and evaluation of pulmonary hypertension. As a small molecule agonist of the adrenomedullin receptor (ADMR), it serves as a vascular endothelium tracer for single-photon emission-computed tomography (SPECT) imaging. The drug is designed to bind to ADMRs, which are highly expressed in the pulmonary microvasculature, allowing for the visualization of abnormalities in pulmonary circulation. By assessing the functional integrity of the pulmonary endothelium, PulmoBind provides a sensitive diagnostic tool for identifying pulmonary vascular disease and monitoring disease progression, potentially offering a more sensitive alternative to traditional lung perfusion scans.
