Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pulmotin is a topical cold ointment developed and manufactured by Serum-Werk Bernburg. It is indicated for the relief of symptoms associated with respiratory tract colds, such as coughs, hoarseness, and bronchial congestion. The formulation consists of a combination of essential oils and aromatic compounds, specifically eucalyptus oil, camphor, and thymol. These active ingredients function through the inhalation of volatile vapors and local absorption through the skin. Pulmotin exerts secretolytic and expectorant effects, helping to liquefy bronchial mucus and facilitate its removal. Additionally, it promotes local blood circulation (hyperemia) and possesses mild antiseptic properties, providing symptomatic relief for both adults and children.
