Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pulpdent Paste is a **premixed calcium hydroxide dental paste** developed and manufactured by Pulpdent Corporation of America for endodontic and vital pulp therapy applications. It contains approximately 40% calcium hydroxide in a viscous aqueous methylcellulose vehicle and is supplied as a **non-setting, radiopaque topical dental paste**. Its therapeutic action is based on the highly alkaline properties of calcium hydroxide, which provide local antimicrobial activity and promote hard tissue repair, including dentin bridge formation and support of pulpal healing. It is used in direct pulp capping, pulpotomy, pulpal curettage, root canal therapy, intracanal dressing between visits, apexification, and management of resorption, perforations, traumatic dental injuries, and dental abscess-related endodontic conditions.
