A pulsed dendritic cell vaccine is a form of personalized immunotherapy in which autologous (patient-derived) dendritic cells are loaded ex vivo with specific antigens—such as tumor-associated peptides, proteins, or mRNA encoding tumor antigens—and then matured under controlled laboratory conditions. These antigen-pulsed and matured dendritic cells are subsequently administered back to the patient, where they home to lymphoid organs and present the loaded antigens to T lymphocytes. This process stimulates an antigen-specific immune response against cancer cells expressing those antigens. Pulsed dendritic cell vaccines have been investigated for various cancers, including B-cell lymphoma and solid tumors, using different types of antigens (e.g., mutant p53 peptide, idiotype protein). The approach leverages the potent antigen-presenting capacity of dendritic cells to induce robust adaptive immunity[1][2][3][4].
