Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination therapy consisting of pulsed radiofrequency (a non-pharmacological, device-based pain management technique) and alpha-lipoic acid (a naturally occurring antioxidant and dietary supplement). Pulsed radiofrequency is used to modulate nerve function for the treatment of chronic pain by delivering short bursts of high-frequency electrical current to nervous tissue without causing significant tissue destruction. Alpha-lipoic acid acts as an antioxidant, supports mitochondrial energy metabolism, and has been studied primarily for its potential benefits in diabetic neuropathy, metabolic disorders, and as a general antioxidant. The combination may be explored in clinical or experimental settings for synergistic effects on neuropathic pain or nerve injury.
