Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PUR1800 is a novel, orally inhaled narrow spectrum kinase inhibitor (NSKI) developed using Pulmatrix's proprietary iSPERSE™ dry powder technology. The active pharmaceutical ingredient is RV1162. It targets and inhibits p38 mitogen-activated protein kinases (p38 MAPK), Src kinases, and spleen tyrosine kinase (Syk), all of which play critical roles in chronic inflammation and airway remodeling. The drug is being developed primarily for the treatment of acute exacerbations in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD). Clinical studies have shown that PUR1800 achieves low and consistent systemic exposure when administered via oral inhalation, with a favorable safety profile in early-phase trials[2][3][6][7].
