Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PuraGold (also known as Jin Lingzhi) is a standardized herbal and fungal extract developed by PuraPharm for the treatment of early-stage Parkinson's disease. The formulation is a complex mixture derived from multiple Ganoderma species, including *Ganoderma lucidum*, *Ganoderma sinense*, *Ganoderma nigrolucidum*, *Ganoderma tropicum*, *Ganoderma applanatum*, and *Coriolus versicolor*. It is administered orally in 400mg capsules. The therapeutic mechanism involves neuroprotection through the inhibition of microglial activation and the reduction of neuroinflammation, which helps protect dopaminergic neurons from oxidative stress. Additionally, it is thought to modulate the immune system and regulate mitochondrial function. Clinical research has included a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial involving 300 patients with idiopathic Parkinson's disease to evaluate its disease-modifying potential.
