Overview

Puralube Vet is a sterile veterinary ophthalmic ointment developed and manufactured by Dechra Veterinary Products for topical ocular lubrication in dogs and cats. It contains white petrolatum and light mineral oil and functions as a mechanical lubricant and ocular surface protectant rather than through a receptor-mediated pharmacologic mechanism. The ointment forms a protective film over the eye to reduce dryness and irritation, and is used for dry eye support as well as corneal protection during bathing, grooming, and anesthetic procedures. It is supplied in 3.5 gram tamper-proof tubes for application to the inside of the lower eyelid.
