Overview

Purified pituitary gonadotropin is a urinary gonadotropin preparation primarily composed of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) with very low luteinizing hormone (LH) content. It is used for ovulation induction and follicle development in infertile women, particularly those with ovulatory disorders due to hypothalamic or pituitary dysfunction, amenorrhea I, or anovulatory cycles. It functions by stimulating the development of ovarian follicles. This preparation is commonly used in Japan for treating infertility.
